Civil Engineer / Construction Project Manager

About the role

A mid-sized construction firm in Dubai is looking for a Civil Engineer / Project Manager to take charge of projects from contract award to handover, keeping scope, budget and timeline under control. The company describes itself as fast and flat, with a team that works closely together.

Key responsibilities

• Own projects from contract award to final handover, keeping scope, budget and timeline in hand
• Lead procurement and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
• Supervise site activity day to day and catch issues early
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and clients so everyone follows the same plan
• Prepare and track progress reports, budgets and variations
• Chair site and progress meetings and follow up on agreements
• Keep health, safety and quality standards central

Required profile

• Civil engineering degree and hands-on experience managing construction projects in the UAE
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
• Strong negotiation and procurement skills
• Confidence supervising sites and reading the room
• Working knowledge of UAE construction regulations and standards
• Nice to have: PMP or equivalent accreditation, familiarity with project management software and reporting tools, experience across buildings, infrastructure and fit-outs
