Clinical Nutrition Dietitian (Level 1)

About the role

The SSMC Clinical Nutrition Department is seeking a Level 1 Dietitian to deliver individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to in‑patients and out‑patients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying the American Dietetic Association Nutrition Care Process (NCP) to ensure evidence‑based, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients using the four‑step Nutrition Care Process (assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring).
• Develop and record individualized nutrition care plans in accordance with hospital policies.
• Liaise daily with ward staff and food service to align dietary orders with patient needs.
• Participate in medical rounds, providing high‑priority MNT recommendations.
• Refer complex cases to senior dietitians and contribute to quality‑improvement projects.
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and the creation of educational materials.
• Assist in precepting dietetic interns and undergraduate students.
• Contribute to institutional awareness campaigns and media initiatives as approved.

Required profile

• Registered Dietitian with a minimum of 3 years of clinical nutrition experience.
• Familiarity with the ADA Nutrition Care Process and Medical Nutrition Therapy.
• Ability to document care accurately and adhere to departmental policies.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and competency maintenance.
