CNC Operator – Composites Manufacturing

About the role

EDGE Group’s Advanced Concepts division is seeking a CNC Operator to run multi‑axis CNC machines for composite part production. You will prepare materials, set up equipment, interpret engineering drawings and ensure high‑quality output while supporting fast‑paced, high‑technology projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain multi‑axis CNC machines, including mill‑turn centers, performing set‑up, adjustments and preventive maintenance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and communicate any discrepancies to the team.
• Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring tools.
• Track material usage, minimise waste and report usage to engineering.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and safety, performing regular cleaning and identifying health‑safety risks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with multi‑axis CNC machines and low‑volume production workflows.
• Strong command of written English.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to perform cleaning and support activities.

Required skills

• Multi‑axis CNC machine operation (mill‑turn centers)
• Reading engineering drawings and GD&T
• Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, speeds and feeds
• Use of measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and gauges
