Commercial & Contracts Manager

About the role

The Commercial & Contracts Manager will lead the commercial and contractual aspects of major construction and infrastructure projects for a leading client in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure robust contract administration, cost control and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all commercial and contractual activities across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with FIDIC principles.
• Administer contracts from inception to close‑out, managing variations, Extension of Time (EOT) claims and dispute resolution.
• Lead cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
• Prepare, review and negotiate interim payment applications, certifications and final accounts.
• Drive subcontract procurement, commercial evaluations, negotiations and ongoing subcontract administration.
• Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect project profitability.
• Produce commercial reports and forecasts for senior management and provide guidance to project teams.
• Mentor and lead Quantity Surveyors and other commercial team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of commercial and contracts management experience in construction, infrastructure or landscaping.
• Proven experience in the UAE/GCC market, preferably with a main contractor or engineering consultancy.
• Strong background in Quantity Surveying progressing to senior commercial management.
• Demonstrated leadership of commercial or quantity surveying teams.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
