Commercial Manager

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial and contractual management of large‑scale construction projects, ensuring contracts are administered effectively, risks are mitigated, and the client’s interests are protected throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain contract requirements during the contract period.
• Review contractual notices of claims and advise engineering teams.
• Interact with client representatives, project consultants and contractors on all contractual matters.
• Draft commercial terms for design and construction services for approval.
• Monitor contractor compliance, prepare variation orders and manage contract close‑out procedures.
• Maintain records, correspondence and logs for engineer’s instructions, variation orders and claims.
• Assist estimation and project control teams with contractual implications of change orders.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and attend commercial meetings, recording minutes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years of international experience in commercial management.
• Membership of RICS, CIOB or similar professional body is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC design‑and‑build contracts.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
