Commis 1 - Bakery

About the role

Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, part of Anantara Hotels & Resorts, is hiring a Commis 1 for its bakery. The role supports the preparation and service of food, preparing mise en place for the outlets and keeping the kitchen area clean and hygienic.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mise en place for the outlets as required.
• Follow food preparation and presentation guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
• Keep working areas clean and tidy and maintain food safety and protection.
• Ensure all food complies with food handling techniques, including dating, proper storage, rotation and temperature control.
• Recommend improvements to the Minor Hotels presentation guidelines.
• Take responsibility for looking after hotel property and facilities.
• Participate in departmental training and help maintain checklists and cleaning schedules.
• Assist at events, banquets and other functions as required.
• Follow personal hygiene, grooming, fire safety and health and safety rules, and carry out special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Experience in a hotel, restaurant or professional bakery is an advantage.
• Knowledge of bread, rolls, cakes, cookies, pastries and basic desserts.
• Ability to measure ingredients accurately and follow standard recipes.
• Basic knowledge of dough preparation, mixing, proofing and baking.
• Ability to operate ovens, mixers and other bakery equipment safely.
• Knowledge of portion control, product presentation, storage and HACCP and food hygiene standards.
• Good teamwork, attention to detail, time management and ability to work under pressure.
