Commis 1 - DoubleTree by Hilton Abu Dhabi

About the role

The DoubleTree by Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Residences is looking for a Commis 1 to join its hotels team. You will assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, helping to create memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Manage guest orders efficiently while ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu, handle complex recipes and oversee station execution, quality control and inventory checks.
• Inspect all preparations and dishes before serving to ensure quality and presentation.
• Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary, following food handling, storage and safety protocols.
• Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items as needed.
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook or trainee in a 5-star hotel or high-standard restaurant.
• Basic knowledge of Western or Chinese cuisine.
• Ability to stay calm and solve problems under pressure, and comfort in hot, humid and noisy kitchens.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow kitchen procedures and hygiene standards.
