About the role
The Commis 2 supports the staff cafeteria by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. This full‑time, onsite position is part of Le Méridien's Food and Beverage team in Dubai.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients, chop, wash, peel, and store fruits and vegetables.
- Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and complete food preparation checklists.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and test foods for proper cooking.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor food quality, ensure correct temperatures, and follow safety, security, and hygiene policies.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related food‑service experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and perform physical tasks for an entire shift.
- Professional appearance and ability to communicate clearly.
