Commis 3 - All Day Dining

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal is hiring a Commis 3 for its All Day Dining restaurant. This is a full-time, non-management position based in Abu Dhabi, focused on food preparation and kitchen support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, then prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to make sure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and break down the workstation, and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check that appliance and food temperatures are correct.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents and injuries, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Work within the team, uphold quality expectations and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for an extended period, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
