About the role
We are looking for a Commis I to join our Dubai hotel kitchen. The role involves preparing special meals, regulating kitchen equipment temperatures, and maintaining high food quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and quality standards.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Pull food from freezer storage, thaw in refrigerator, and ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish.
- Maintain food logs, monitor food quality and quantity, and inform Chef of excess items for daily specials.
- Communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to Food & Beverage service staff.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching.
- Follow safety, security, and uniform policies; report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions.
Required profile
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
- At least 3 years of related work experience in food preparation.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific license or certification required.
