Communications & External Affairs Advisor (UAE)

About the role

The Communications & External Affairs Advisor will provide strategic leadership for bp’s partnerships, corporate affairs and communications across the UAE and the wider MENA region. Reporting to the Head of C&EA UAE, the role supports the country head with counsel on partnerships, non‑technical risks, crisis communications and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with UAE and regional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies, including representation at platforms such as ADIPEC, ENACT and Business Council events.
• Build and maintain high‑trust relationships with government partners, community leaders, embassies, trade associations and other key stakeholders.
• Manage internal communications, town‑halls and staff engagement initiatives.
• Serve as the crisis communication lead, coordinating with senior leadership and relevant teams.
• Oversee financial responsibility for corporate events and CSR initiatives.
• Develop consistent messaging, executive briefings and high‑quality communication materials in coordination with regional and central teams.

Required profile

• UAE national, in line with Emiratisation goals.
• Proven experience in communications, external affairs or corporate affairs within a large, multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of UAE government structures, stakeholder landscapes and regional business dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
