Community Moderator (External Contractor) - UAE

About the role

Udacity, an Accenture company, is looking for a Community Moderator as an external contractor based in the UAE. The role supports Community Managers in keeping Udacity's scholarship communities healthy and engaging, so that community goals are met. It is a part-time position alongside a current job, fully online.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the forum daily, including weekends, at least twice a day (morning and evening), and respond to students' questions with non-technical support.
• Handle violation posts and make sure members follow community guidelines.
• Occasionally support the Community Manager with performance summaries when requested.
• Brainstorm with the Community Manager on ways to increase member engagement.
• Attend regular online meetings with Udacity representatives and reply promptly in group discussions.
• Ensure all members have a fun and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Resides in the UAE.
• Graduate of a Udacity course or Nanodegree is an added plus.
• Availability to work across days, evenings and weekends as required.
• Flexibility to take on this part-time external contractor role alongside a current job.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of online communities and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong internet connection, as duties are fully online.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a proactive approach.
• Understanding of online community moderation tools (forums, commenting, content management).
• Knowledge of Udacity's services, target audience and community culture.
• Customer service principles and good communication and reporting skills.
