Condition Monitoring Technician (Oil & Gas)

About the role

We are looking for a Condition Monitoring Technician to join our oil & gas operations in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on online and offline monitoring of rotating equipment to ensure reliability and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform online and offline condition monitoring of rotating equipment using portable and fixed systems.
• Collect, analyse, and trend data to assess equipment health and identify abnormal operating conditions.
• Conduct vibration analysis, ultrasound testing, thermography, oil analysis, and MCSA to diagnose machinery issues.
• Diagnose faults such as misalignment, imbalance, bearing defects, looseness, resonance, and lubrication issues.
• Prepare detailed inspection and technical reports, including root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records and equipment history in the computerized condition monitoring / CMMS system.
• Communicate critical equipment conditions to maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support reliability and preventive maintenance.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (minimum 3 years).
• Level‑I or Level‑II certification in Condition Monitoring techniques (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the petrochemical/oil & gas industry performing condition monitoring.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on skill in online and offline condition monitoring of rotating equipment.
• Proficiency in vibration analysis, ultrasound testing, thermography, oil analysis, and MCSA.
• Excellent knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and fans.
• Ability to analyse trends, identify early‑stage defects and produce detailed technical reports.
• Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) for data entry and record keeping.
