Chief Operating Officer – Metals Manufacturing

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer will drive overall business performance for a metals manufacturing and recycling operation in Sharjah, overseeing revenue, margins and profitability across integrated functions.

Key responsibilities

• Own overall business performance, revenue, margins and profitability.
• Lead integrated recycling, manufacturing, trading and commercial operations, including processing aluminium and copper scrap into ingots and finished products.
• Develop and strengthen bulk scrap sourcing and procurement networks across international markets.
• Manage domestic and international scrap trading activities, covering pricing, quality, credit and commercial risk.
• Drive plant efficiency, production capacity, yield improvement, cost optimisation and quality.
• Align procurement, production, inventory, sales and logistics to maximise contribution margins.
• Lead large, multi‑functional teams across Operations, Production, Procurement, Trading, Sales, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Maintenance.
• Oversee working capital, cash flow, inventory, receivables, payables and trade‑finance requirements.
• Develop long‑term business expansion strategies, including new markets, capacity expansion, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• At least 15+ years of experience in non‑ferrous metals, with strong aluminium and/or copper industry exposure.
• Proven experience across metal recycling/manufacturing plants and trading, including bulk scrap procurement and sourcing.
• Demonstrated commercial and profitability achievements and senior stakeholder management.
• Extensive UAE/GCC experience and strong international metals‑market, cross‑border trading exposure.
• Experience managing large, multi‑functional teams.
