Construction Manager – Civils and Cut & Cover

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead civil works and cut‑and‑cover tunnel projects in Dubai. You will oversee all construction activities from start‑up to hand‑over, ensuring they meet schedule, quality, safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage construction activities within site boundaries from inception to completion.
• Monitor contractor schedules, labour, equipment and tool availability and ensure compliance with UAE laws and project specifications.
• Conduct site inspections, testing and commissioning in line with the project management process.
• Verify that contractors hold all necessary permits before work begins.
• Identify risks and opportunities, propose cost‑saving measures and support the client in achieving project timelines.
• Prepare internal and external progress reports for senior management and the client.
• Interpret contracts, manage related risks, avoid claims and handle claim matters when required.
• Lead site safety supervision, contributing to the development and maintenance of the safety plan.
• Oversee contractor performance, provide feedback and ensure adherence to quality, health, safety and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing civil construction and cut‑and‑cover tunnel projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction regulations and permitting processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction contracts and manage associated risks.
• Excellent reporting and communication skills for interfacing with clients and senior management.
