Construction Manager – Electrical & Instrumentation

About the role

Target Engineering seeks an experienced Construction Manager (Electrical & Instrumentation) to lead complex Oil & Gas EPC projects in the UAE. You will oversee all E&I construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop execution plans, schedules and manpower strategies; coordinate with engineering, procurement and planning teams.
• Lead and manage installation of cable trays, LV/MV cables, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, substations, lighting, grounding, instrumentation, fire & gas, ESD, DCS, SCADA and communication systems.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, ensure compliance with specifications, standards and HSE procedures.
• Implement QA/QC procedures, conduct inspections, approve test reports and support mechanical completion.
• Manage material availability, verify certifications and optimise utilisation.
• Serve as primary liaison for clients, consultants and vendors; prepare progress reports and handover documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of Electrical & Instrumentation construction experience on EPC/EPCM projects in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, power or industrial sectors.
• At least 5 years in a managerial role leading multidisciplinary construction teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (essential); Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management (preferred).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA and related Oil & Gas standards.
• Expertise in cable tray and conduit systems, LV/MV cable laying, switchgear, MCC, transformer and substation installation.
• Proficiency with instrumentation, fire & gas, ESD, DCS, SCADA and communication interfaces.
• Experience in QA/QC, HSE compliance, risk assessments and permit‑to‑work procedures.
