Consultant Critical Care Medicine

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant in Critical Care Medicine to join a leading healthcare organization in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering expert care to critically ill adults in the Intensive Care Unit, managing complex emergencies, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate and manage critically ill adult patients requiring intensive care.
• Lead mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring and advanced life‑support interventions.
• Perform central venous catheterisation, arterial line insertion, endotracheal intubation, bronchoscopy and bedside ultrasound‑guided procedures.
• Coordinate individualized treatment plans with surgeons, emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, nurses and allied health professionals.
• Supervise ICU rounds, ensure evidence‑based protocols and respond to code‑blue activations.
• Participate in infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship and ICU quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior physicians, residents and ICU staff while contributing to research and education.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with a recognised specialisation in Critical Care Medicine.
• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine and 5–7 years post‑board experience as a consultant.
• ACLS certification (FCCS or ECMO training advantageous).
• Strong communication, leadership and collaborative skills.
