Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking a highly qualified Consultant Emergency Medicine physician. The role suits someone with extensive expertise in emergency patient management, trauma care, advanced resuscitation and stabilisation of critically ill patients, and who can exercise strong clinical judgment and leadership in a fast-paced emergency department.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with acute illness, injury and life-threatening emergencies
• Assess, stabilise and treat critically ill patients immediately
• Lead CPR, advanced cardiac life support and emergency response procedures
• Manage major trauma, shock, respiratory failure, cardiac and neurological emergencies
• Perform emergency procedures such as endotracheal intubation, airway management, vascular access and wound management within authorised clinical privileges
• Interpret laboratory and imaging results and oversee triage, patient prioritisation and clinical decisions
• Coordinate admissions, referrals and transfers to specialty departments
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists and multidisciplinary teams
• Mentor junior physicians and emergency department staff
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, emergency care protocols, infection control and patient safety

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognised medical degree
• Recognised postgraduate qualification or residency training in Emergency Medicine
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification; American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian or other internationally recognised qualifications are highly desirable
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred
• Eligibility for DHA Consultant Emergency Medicine classification/license in Dubai, subject to UAE PQR requirements

Required skills

• Emergency resuscitation, trauma management and critical patient stabilisation
• ACLS, BLS and ATLS certifications, or equivalent training, preferred
