Consultant Eye Specialist – Advanced Ophthalmic Care in UAE

About the role

A leading internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its ophthalmology services and seeks a Consultant Eye Specialist. The role offers exposure to a diverse patient base, modern facilities, and a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage medical and surgical eye conditions in outpatient and operative settings.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures across subspecialties such as cataract, glaucoma, retina, cornea, and oculoplastics.
• Interpret ophthalmic imaging, OCT, visual fields, and other diagnostic tests.
• Manage urgent eye conditions including trauma, acute vision loss, infection, and raised intra‑ocular pressure.
• Coordinate care with optometry, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology, and pediatric teams.
• Maintain surgical safety, consent, documentation, and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised ophthalmology qualification (e.g., American Board, UK CCT/FRCOphth, European Board, Royal College, Arab Board, MS/DNB/FCPS, FRANZCO).
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing and facility credentialing.
• Experience in a senior or consultant‑level ophthalmology role.

Required skills

• Cataract, glaucoma, retina, cornea and oculoplastic surgery.
• Interpretation of OCT, visual fields and other ophthalmic imaging.
• Management of acute eye trauma and infections.
• Multidisciplinary care coordination.
