Consultant Hematologist Oncologist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Hematologist Oncologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering comprehensive care for patients with hematological disorders and solid tumours, working within multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate and manage a range of hematological disorders and solid tumours, developing individualized treatment plans that may include chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations such as bone‑marrow biopsies, pathology reports, molecular testing and imaging studies.
• Participate in tumour board meetings, collaborate with surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists and radiologists, and monitor treatment response and complications.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Provide teaching, mentorship and CME activities for junior staff and promote advances in hematology and oncology.
• Engage in clinical research, audits, publications and clinical trials, staying current with emerging therapies and guidelines.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with accredited internal medicine training and a fellowship in Hematology Oncology.
• Board certification recognised by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and 3–5 years post‑fellowship experience as a consultant.
• Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi consultant licensure, fluency in English (Arabic a plus), and strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in tertiary care or academic cancer centres, preferably with stem‑cell transplantation and clinical trial involvement.
