Consultant Infectious Diseases – Full‑time in Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking a distinguished Consultant in Infectious Diseases to join a leading hospital in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering comprehensive, evidence‑based care for patients with complex bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. The consultant will work within a high‑performing, multidisciplinary environment committed to clinical excellence and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of infectious disease cases, including in immunocompromised and critically ill patients.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based antimicrobial treatment plans and support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
• Collaborate with microbiologists, intensivists, surgeons and other specialists to optimise patient outcomes.
• Offer guidance on infection prevention and control measures and participate in clinical governance, audits and quality‑improvement projects.
• Contribute to medical education, training and departmental development.

Required profile

• Board certification in Infectious Diseases or Internal Medicine with subspecialty training.
• Recognised Tier 1 qualification (e.g., ABMS, Canadian Royal College, UK CCT/CCST) and eligibility for Consultant‑level licensing with DHA, DOH or MOHAP.
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑specialisation experience in infectious diseases.
