Consultant Ophthalmologist – UAE

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its ophthalmology services and seeks a highly skilled Consultant Ophthalmologist. The role offers strong clinical exposure, multidisciplinary teamwork and the chance to work in a modern, quality‑driven environment serving a diverse international patient base.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage medical and surgical eye conditions across outpatient and operative settings.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures such as cataract, glaucoma, retina, cornea or oculoplastic surgery.
• Interpret ophthalmic imaging, visual fields, OCT and other diagnostic tests.
• Manage urgent eye conditions including trauma, acute vision loss, infection and raised intra‑ocular pressure.
• Coordinate care with optometry, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology and paediatric teams.
• Maintain surgical safety, consent, documentation and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Strong clinical judgement with a commitment to evidence‑based practice and patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills for culturally diverse patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to adapt to UAE healthcare regulations, documentation standards and hospital governance.
• Interest in long‑term career development within a premium UAE healthcare setting.
