About the role

The Consultant – Orthopaedics Surgery provides high‑quality clinical services to patients at Royal Khalifa City Hospital. The role involves delivering comprehensive orthopaedic care, from pre‑operative assessment through post‑operative follow‑up, while ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopaedic care, including pre‑ and post‑operative management and surgical procedures within competence.
• Conduct outpatient (OPD) consultations and coordinate with physicians, surgeons, and anesthetists.
• Assume after‑hours responsibility for admitted orthopaedic cases and perform daily rounds.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure adherence to Joint Commission standards and hospital bylaws.
• Identify equipment and supply needs, initiating procurement to support surgical services.
• Utilise supporting services (nursing, pathology, radiology) efficiently and cost‑effectively.

Required profile

• Qualified and licensed medical practitioner with a basic medical degree and recognised fellowship/diploma.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience at consultant level, including at least 1 year in a Tier 1 country as defined by UAE regulator.
• Active registration in a specialty recognised by UAE healthcare authority.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
