Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon to join a leading tertiary‑care cardiac centre in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will lead surgical management of congenital heart disease across neonates, infants, children and adolescents, delivering evidence‑based, world‑class cardiac care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex paediatric cardiac surgeries, including congenital defect repairs, neonatal procedures and redo operations.
• Manage peri‑operative care in close collaboration with cardiology, anaesthesia and intensive‑care teams.
• Participate in surgical planning for high‑risk congenital cases and provide emergency interventions for critically ill patients.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior surgeons, fellows and surgical trainees.
• Ensure compliance with surgical safety, infection‑control and quality standards, and maintain accurate documentation per DOH Abu Dhabi regulations.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary cardiac conferences, clinical research, audits and academic publications.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent recognised by DOH Abu Dhabi.
• Board certification/fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery with subspecialty training in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery.
• Valid DOH Consultant licence or eligibility letter for Cardiac Surgery.
• 7–10 years post‑fellowship experience in paediatric cardiac surgery, with strong expertise in neonatal and complex congenital procedures.
• Proven leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration and teaching abilities.
