Consultant Pediatric Craniofacial Surgeon

About the role

The Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality surgical care to children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based clinical care, diagnosing, managing and treating pediatric craniofacial conditions.
• Conduct patient examinations, obtain histories, order and interpret investigations, prescribe treatments and develop comprehensive care plans.
• Lead ward rounds, supervise inpatient and outpatient services, and ensure seamless on‑call coverage.
• Oversee junior medical staff, including specialists, GPs and residents, providing training and mentorship.
• Collaborate with other specialties and support services in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital, departmental and DOH regulations.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, audits and risk‑management activities.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families, securing informed consent.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent with a recognized specialty training program (Board Certification, Royal College Fellowship or equivalent).
• Postgraduate qualification such as MD, MS or DNB is generally required.
• 3–7 years of post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Eligibility for, or a valid, DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) license, including required primary source verification and exam completion.
