Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join a leading tertiary‑care hospital in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering rapid, compassionate emergency care to infants, children and adolescents while supporting departmental leadership and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage acute medical, surgical and trauma cases in the pediatric emergency department.
• Lead resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management, vascular access and life‑saving interventions.
• Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and fellow emergency physicians.
• Develop and update clinical pathways, guidelines and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff, and participate in morbidity‑mortality reviews.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans and follow‑up instructions clearly to families, fostering a child‑friendly environment.
• Engage in teaching, clinical research and represent the department at conferences and community health events.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization.
• Minimum 8–10 years post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
