Consultant Pediatric Neuro-Oncology

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant in Pediatric Neuro‑Oncology to join our multidisciplinary team at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to children with neuro‑oncological conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise delivery of evidence‑based clinical care, including diagnosis, management and treatment of pediatric neuro‑oncology patients.
• Conduct patient examinations, obtain histories, order and interpret investigations, prescribe therapies and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Oversee ward rounds, manage inpatient and outpatient cases, and ensure appropriate documentation.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff, including specialists, GPs and residents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Maintain compliance with hospital, departmental and DOH policies, including infection control and patient safety.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and risk management.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent with a structured specialty training program (e.g., Board Certification, Fellowship of a Royal College) and a postgraduate qualification such as MD, MS or DNB.
• 3–7 years of post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Eligibility for, or a valid, Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH) medical licence, including required primary source verification, DOH exam (if applicable) and a good‑standing certificate.
