Consultant Pediatric Radiology Physician

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Pediatric Radiology will lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based imaging services for children at SKMC in Abu Dhabi. The role combines clinical excellence with supervision of junior staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for pediatric patients using radiological investigations.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, overseeing their clinical activities and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
• Lead ward rounds, review investigation results, modify treatment plans, and document clinical information promptly.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate care with other specialties and support services.
• Manage on-call duties on a rotational basis, covering evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment, and administrative tasks as required.

Required profile

• Board-certified or equivalent qualification in Pediatric Radiology.
• Extensive experience in diagnosing and managing pediatric imaging cases.
• Demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities for junior staff.
• Commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety and evidence-based practice.

Required skills

• Proficiency in pediatric radiological imaging modalities and interpretation.
• Ability to document clinical findings clearly and timely.
• Effective communication with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
