Consultant Physician – Hematology & Oncology

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Hematology & Oncology will lead the delivery of evidence‑based patient care, ensuring high‑quality diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up for all patients under their supervision. This senior medical role also provides mentorship and training for junior staff within the division.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee clinical activities of junior physicians and assume responsibility for patient outcomes.
• Diagnose, treat and manage hematology and oncology cases according to best‑practice standards.
• Lead ward rounds, review investigations, adjust treatment plans and ensure proper documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate care with other specialties.
• Support division initiatives, performance management, peer review and utilization reviews.
• Assist the Division Chief with staffing, scheduling and recruitment.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• Board‑certified physician in Hematology and Oncology.
• Demonstrated clinical excellence and leadership in a hospital setting.
• Ability to supervise and train junior medical staff.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Expertise in hematology and oncology diagnostics and therapeutics.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, admission, discharge and consent procedures.
