Consultant Physician – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation leads the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients across the division. This senior clinical position provides leadership, supervision and training for junior medical staff while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and best‑practice standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee clinical activities of junior staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Diagnose, manage and treat patients according to established best‑practice guidelines.
• Lead ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate care with other specialties.
• Participate in performance management, peer review, and utilization review processes.
• Support quality improvement, audit activities, and clinical research initiatives.

Required profile

• Board‑certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with a current national medical license.
• Minimum 2 years post‑board consultant experience (or equivalent fellowship training counted double).
• Experience in an internationally accredited institution, preferably with fellowship training in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK or USA.
• Commitment to continuous medical education and participation in clinical research.
