Consultant Pulmonology

About the role

The Royal Khalifa City Hospital is seeking an experienced Consultant in Pulmonology to deliver high‑quality clinical services, manage respiratory patients across OPD, wards and ICU, and provide on‑call emergency coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans for patients with respiratory diseases.
• Deliver after‑hours emergency coverage for pulmonary emergencies.
• Supervise and educate nursing staff, technicians and junior physicians.
• Participate in quality‑assurance activities such as mortality and morbidity conferences, peer review and audits.
• Maintain compliance with clinical governance, risk management and continuous professional development standards.
• Respond to patient and client concerns promptly and ensure a positive patient experience.

Required profile

• Qualified and licensed medical practitioner with a basic medical degree.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience at consultant level, including at least 1 year in a Tier 1 country as defined by UAE regulators.
• Completion of a recognized fellowship or diploma in Pulmonology.
• Active registration with the relevant UAE healthcare authority.

Required skills

• Life‑support certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
• Clinical risk management and quality assurance expertise.
