Cost Control Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Cost Control Engineer to manage project costs across site and head‑office operations. You will monitor budgets, track expenditures, prepare forecasts and deliver cost‑control reports that support profitability and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost plans, monthly forecasts and cost reports.
• Monitor actual costs, commitments, purchase orders, subcontractor and material expenses against approved budgets.
• Identify cost variances, potential overruns and financial risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain project cost codes and ensure accurate allocation across labour, materials, equipment and overheads.
• Prepare Estimate at Completion, cost‑to‑complete, cash‑flow forecasts and expenditure analyses.
• Review subcontractor and supplier invoices, claims, variations and change orders for commercial compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement, finance and site teams to provide timely cost information.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost control, project cost management, estimation or commercial reporting within construction.
• Strong understanding of construction cost structures, budgets, commitments, variations and subcontractor cost control.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience working on large‑scale residential or commercial projects in the UAE is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with cost‑tracking tools or ERP systems; familiarity with Xpedeon is a significant advantage.
