Credit Analyst / Manager - SME Lending

About the role

A fast-growing fintech providing working capital solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises across the UAE is looking for a Credit Analyst/Manager to shape its credit strategy within a lending platform. The role covers assessing SME credit applications, structuring financing solutions and supporting the development of the credit function.

Key responsibilities

• Assess SME credit applications by evaluating financial performance, cash flows, receivables and existing debt obligations.
• Analyse financial statements to determine repayment capacity and creditworthiness.
• Prepare credit proposals, risk assessments and lending recommendations.
• Evaluate invoice financing, receivables financing and other SME lending opportunities.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their business models and financing needs.
• Monitor existing credit exposures, identify early warning indicators and recommend risk mitigation measures.
• Support portfolio reviews, facility renewals, amendments and new client assessments.
• Contribute to credit policies, underwriting standards and risk frameworks, and suggest improvements through technology and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting or lending.
• Experience in SME banking, business banking, commercial banking or SME lending.
• Proven experience preparing credit proposals and lending recommendations.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; interest in fintech and process improvement.
• UAE market experience preferred.

Required skills

• Financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment and repayment capacity evaluation.
• Working capital facilities, invoice financing or receivables financing exposure is advantageous.
