Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

A fintech startup based in Dubai is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to help protect its systems, networks, applications and customer data from cyber threats. The role covers monitoring security activity, spotting risks, supporting security projects and making sure the right security measures are in place. It sits within the IT / Cybersecurity department and reports to the Head of IT / Information Security.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and investigate suspicious activity or potential threats
• Identify security weaknesses and support vulnerability assessments
• Assist with cybersecurity incident management and follow-up actions
• Help implement and maintain security policies, procedures and controls
• Support security risk assessments and internal audits
• Work with IT and development teams to improve system and application security
• Protect customer information, financial data and payment platforms
• Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001 and PCI DSS
• Manage user access reviews and support identity and access management
• Prepare security reports and monitor remediation activities

Required profile

• 2-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security
• Previous experience in a fintech, banking, digital payments or financial services company is essential
• Good understanding of cybersecurity risks, security controls and best practices
• Good analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work with both technical and business teams

Required skills

• Experience with security monitoring, incident management and vulnerability assessments
• Knowledge of network, cloud and application security
• Familiarity with tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls and vulnerability scanners
• Understanding of ISO 27001, PCI DSS or other security frameworks
• Desirable certifications: CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 certified, CC, CISM or CISSP
