Demi Chef de Partie - Liv Kitchen

About the role

This Demi Chef de Partie position covers the Liv Kitchen at a W Hotels property. The role prepares meals and substitutes, cooks according to recipes and quality standards, and supports the kitchen team and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Maintain food logs and inform the Chef of excess food for daily specials
• Tell Food & Beverage staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
• Anticipate guest service needs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and coaching staff, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift up to 25 pounds
