Design Director - Hospitality Interiors

About the role

A leading hospitality interior design firm based in Dubai is looking for a Design Director to shape its creative direction, deliver landmark luxury projects and help grow the studio. Candidates must be in Dubai or willing to relocate.

Key responsibilities

• Set and champion the creative vision across the studio's hospitality portfolio, from concept to completion
• Lead high-profile client relationships, present to board and senior stakeholders and secure new commissions
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects, accountable for design quality, programme, fees and profitability
• Direct and inspire design teams, giving strategic guidance and critical review at key stages
• Mentor senior and junior designers and build a collaborative studio culture
• Contribute to business development, including pitches, proposals and market positioning
• Work with architects, operators, brand teams and consultants to deliver brand-aligned guest experiences
• Uphold design standards, processes and best practice

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years in interior design, with at least 5 in a senior leadership or directorial role in hospitality
• Portfolio of luxury hotel, resort, restaurant or F&B projects, ideally with significant GCC and international experience
• Proven track record of winning work and managing top-level client relationships
• Commercial awareness, including managing project fees, resourcing and studio profitability
• Deep knowledge of materials, finishes, FF&E and technical detailing
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Required skills

• Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and rendering tools, enough to review and direct team output
• Exceptional communication, presentation and leadership skills
