About the role

Sigma Engineering Works is seeking a Design Engineer specialized in ASME BPVC to develop and deliver high‑quality pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks and related static equipment for the oil & gas sector. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and project teams to ensure designs meet safety, quality and profitability targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop detailed designs for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, skids and packages in compliance with ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2.
  • Perform code calculations, stress analysis and material selection according to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, drawings, specifications, Material Take‑Off (MTO) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS).
  • Coordinate fabrication, assembly, inspection and testing activities, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Review contract and tender documentation, develop project plans and schedules.
  • Liaise with internal departments, subcontractors and clients to obtain approvals and ensure deliverables meet specifications.
  • Represent SEW during client meetings and third‑party ASME audits.

Required profile

  • Proven experience designing pressure vessels, heat exchangers or similar equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME BPVC, especially Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2.
  • Ability to conduct stress analysis, material selection and code‑based calculations.
  • Familiarity with preparation of ITPs, WPS, PQRs and other engineering deliverables.
