About the role
The Diagnostic Technician will diagnose and repair increasingly complex vehicles, ensuring issues are resolved correctly the first time. This role requires current technical knowledge, strong analytical ability, and clear communication with workshop colleagues and customers.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicle faults and complete repairs accurately.
- Support technicians with diagnostic and repair procedures.
- Minimize repeat repairs through high-quality workmanship.
- Explain completed and required work clearly to service advisors, supervisors, colleagues, and customers.
- Recommend improvements to tools, equipment, work methods, and the workshop environment.
Required profile
- Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a reputable workshop in a similar role.
- Customer‑focused and analytical approach.
- Integrity, perseverance, assertiveness, and attention to follow‑up.
Required skills
- Strong automotive diagnostic and technical skills.
- Effective verbal communication and teamwork.
- Strong planning, organisation, and task‑management skills.
