About the role

The Diploma in Nuclear Technology (DNT) is an entry‑level, 24‑month vocational program designed for UAE national high‑school graduates who wish to become local operators or maintenance technicians at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant. Training is delivered at ENEC’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi and on‑site at the Barakah Plant.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge of science and engineering fundamentals related to nuclear energy.
• Study nuclear power plant systems, processes, and safety procedures.
• Participate in practical, hands‑on training at the Barakah Plant.
• Prepare for permanent placement as a local operator or maintenance technician upon successful completion.

Required profile

• UAE national, aged 18‑25.
• High school certificate with a minimum grade of 70%.
• IELTS score of at least 5.5 (Emsat not accepted) or equivalent.
• Completed national military service (no exemptions).

• Understanding of nuclear power plant systems.
• Maintenance techniques for industrial equipment.
• Fundamental science and engineering knowledge.
