Director of Corporate Origination & Business Development

About the role

The Director of Corporate Origination & Business Development will lead the acquisition and onboarding of large corporate and middle‑market clients for Mashreq Bank in the UAE. Reporting to senior management, the role combines market prospecting, proposition development and full credit cycle ownership to drive revenue and cross‑selling targets.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect, identify and onboard new corporate borrowing relationships with annual revenues between AED 250 million and AED 1 billion.
• Develop and execute proposition strategies, competition analysis, and targeted campaigns across corporate banking products.
• Own the end‑to‑end credit process, from proposal preparation to approval, documentation and onboarding.
• Collaborate with product, risk and coverage teams to deliver customized solutions and ensure compliance with credit, operational and regulatory policies.
• Track deal flow, prepare business reports and maintain relationships with internal specialists and external introducers.
• Drive profitability, deposit growth, cross‑selling and capital management objectives while adhering to risk controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of banking experience in business development, credit and relationship management, with at least 2 years in a similar senior role in the UAE.
• University degree in business, finance or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial orientation, networking ability and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver results independently.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with web content management.
• Analytical skills for credit assessment and market intelligence.
