Director of Engineering

About the role

The Director of Engineering will lead all engineering operations and projects for JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, overseeing the building, grounds and physical plant with a focus on safety, security and asset protection during a full‑scale renovation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage plant systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and refrigeration, and oversee service contracts and utilities.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies, preventative maintenance plans, energy‑conservation initiatives and capital‑expenditure projects.
• Control budgets, payroll and expenses while ensuring regulatory compliance and fire‑life safety standards.
• Lead the emergency response team and coordinate stakeholder relationships during the hotel’s repositioning.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior engineering role within a five‑star hotel or equivalent.
• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Strong leadership, communication and customer‑focus skills.
• Proven ability to motivate teams and manage large‑scale projects.
