Division Chief – Consultant Physician, Breast Surgery

About the role

The Division Chief will lead the Breast Surgery Division at Tawam Hospital, combining senior clinical practice with strategic management. Reporting to the Head of Department, the role ensures high‑quality, patient‑centered care while advancing the division’s academic and research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement divisional strategic plans aligned with hospital objectives.
• Oversee clinical operations, ensuring compliance with HAAD, Ministry of Health, and corporate policies.
• Chair division meetings, represent the division in departmental and executive forums, and drive performance‑management processes.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and professional development, including appointment of division chiefs and physicians.
• Manage budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation for the division.
• Ensure continuous medical coverage, including on‑call, weekend, and holiday staffing.
• Monitor patient satisfaction, address complaints, and implement quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain an active clinical practice in breast surgery and contribute to teaching and research activities.

Required profile

• Board‑certified Consultant Physician in Breast Surgery with extensive clinical experience.
• Proven leadership experience in a multi‑disciplinary medical division or department.
• Strong knowledge of UAE health regulations (HAAD, Ministry of Health) and hospital governance.
• Excellent communication, decision‑making, and stakeholder‑management skills.
