Dog Trainer / Handler for Groomy Pet Daycare

About the role

Groomy Pet is seeking an experienced dog trainer/handler to lead its newly established daycare and boarding unit in Abu Dhabi. You will work directly with pets and their owners, delivering training, care, and health monitoring in a calm, stress‑free environment.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with pet owners and trainers to define training goals and expectations.
• Develop and implement individualized training regimes using positive‑reinforcement techniques.
• Monitor animals for health and behavioral issues, reporting any concerns.
• Provide feeding, medication, grooming, and general care for pets.
• Maintain accurate training records and progress reports.
• Educate owners and staff about animal behavior, training methods, and care best practices.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to foster a teamwork‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional animal training experience.
• Formal certification or completion of a recognized animal behavior program.
• Strong understanding of animal behavior, obedience methods, and positive‑reinforcement techniques.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Experience with a variety of breeds and temperaments.
• Physically fit and comfortable handling active or strong animals.
• Willingness to conduct training sessions in different environments.
