Driver - General Services

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE, is looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Driver to join its General Services team in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the safe and efficient transport of employees, visitors, goods and, where applicable, ammunition or other controlled materials, while supporting day-to-day logistics such as pickups, deliveries, loading and unloading.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport employees and visitors to and from company facilities and other locations.
• Transport goods, materials and, where applicable, ammunition or controlled materials in line with approved safety procedures.
• Operate only vehicles authorised under the relevant UAE driving licence category.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and routine safety checks, keeping vehicles clean, safe, maintained and roadworthy.
• Maintain accurate driver log books and vehicle records.
• Carry out trips across different Emirates for pickup and delivery of employees, goods and materials.
• Support loading/unloading, shipping/receiving and inventory movement.
• Monitor vehicle servicing, maintenance, tyre condition and registration requirements.
• Follow procedures when handling ammunition, explosives or hazardous materials, and immediately report accidents, defects or hazards to the Manager and Security team.

Required profile

• High school certificate or diploma.
• Valid UAE driving licence for the required vehicle category.
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional driving experience in the UAE.
• Good knowledge of UAE roads, traffic laws and regulations; good understanding of vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance.
• Willingness to travel between Emirates and to support loading, unloading and logistics activities.
• Preferred: experience with light vehicles, heavy trucks, buses, forklifts or other commercial vehicles, and experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, government or defence environments.

Required skills

• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures and instructions.
• English proficiency is required for all roles.
