Economic Strategy Senior Consultant (Director Level)

About the role

The Senior Consultant supports the strategic development and execution of Dubai's economic policies and growth initiatives within the Economic Strategy Sector. The role leads strategic projects and initiatives, provides strong project management and stakeholder engagement, and helps formulate, implement and refine economic strategies aligned with Dubai's Economic Agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex projects end to end, applying expertise in planning, governance, stakeholder coordination, risk management and delivery oversight.
• Assist in formulating and refining economic growth and cost competitiveness strategies, policies and plans, and provide analytical support so they align with Dubai's economic objectives.
• Analyse existing economic development programmes to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate on special projects for key economic sectors, prepare detailed reports and presentations, and engage clients, partners and the private sector.
• Represent the department in economic forums and working groups locally and regionally, and evaluate the economic feasibility of projects.
• Support economic research, studies and analysis with department heads, and prepare materials for the Director General and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Economics, Economics Policy, Public Policy, Statistics or a closely related field.
• Advantageous: close to 10 years of experience in strategic economic planning, policy development or a senior advisory role in a large organisation or government entity.
• Proven track record of proposing, developing and implementing economic growth strategies and policies.
• Experience managing large-scale projects and programmes, including performance measures and reporting.
• Experience representing organisations in high-profile settings and building networks with economic institutions; management consulting experience is advantageous.
