E&I Chargehand – Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor

About the role

The E&I Chargehand will coordinate with the General Foreman to supervise construction crews, ensuring timely completion of electrical and instrumentation tasks on site.

Key responsibilities

• Pre‑plan next‑day work, conduct toolbox meetings and deploy technicians.
• Execute site activities according to the construction schedule and allocated man‑hours.
• Report daily progress, attend site meetings and produce As‑Built (Red Mark‑up) drawings.
• Support inspections, mechanical completion, and dossier compilation when required.
• Supervise 10‑20 personnel, enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in E&I construction and pre‑commissioning.
• Ability to read and interpret SLD, P&ID, specifications and relevant codes.
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Installation and testing of cables, motors, transformers and switchgear.
• Installation of UPS systems, batteries and control panels.
• Installation and bench calibration of pneumatic and electronic instruments.
• Pressure testing (pneumatic & hydrostatic) and flushing of piping systems.
• Use of E&I test equipment: multimeter, megger, dead‑weight tester, pneumatic/calibration devices, earth tester.
• Knowledge of international standards such as NEC, NEMA, API, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, etc.
