Electrical Engineer - Design

About the role

Al Rostamani Group’s Emirates Electrical Engineering division is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Design to develop lighting, small power and ELV systems for MEP projects. The role involves creating detailed designs, calculations and documentation to ensure compliance with local codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements and develop design plans, specifications and schematics for Electrical Lighting, Small Power and ELV systems.
• Perform system calculations, select appropriate cable sizes, lighting fixtures and ELV devices for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, riser diagrams, cable and equipment schedules, and technical reports.
• Integrate Electrical designs with other building services by working closely with architects, project managers and other engineers.
• Incorporate energy‑efficient technologies to minimise environmental impact and operational costs.
• Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations and industry standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs and verify proper installation and performance.
• Conduct quality checks to verify accuracy and completeness of design plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer on MEP projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MEP design software/tools.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Lighting, Small Power and ELV system design and related components.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations and industry standards.
