Electrical Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join its team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This full-time position plays a key role in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate combines a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative spirit and a solid understanding of local UAE regulations and international engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical systems from the concept masterplan stage through to IFC, covering dry utilities and infrastructure projects
• Design primary substations, EHV, HV and LV corridors, distribution and pocket substations, feeder pillars and service turrets, and prepare calculations and reports
• Design telecommunication infrastructure, including ducts and manholes, and street lighting (SLDs, load schedules, landscape lighting, branch wiring)
• Coordinate with wet, roads, transportation, landscape and building teams, and prepare clarifications to contractor RFIs and review technical submittals
• Prepare NOC submissions and coordinate with local authorities of the Middle East
• Manage the design and approval process with the project team, clients and stakeholders
• Work toward digitalisation and use leadership skills to build effective working environments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• More than 3 years of experience in design only; construction supervision candidates are not preferred
• Strong understanding of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and KSA authority guidelines and standards
• Ability to work with diverse, geographically and culturally diverse teams

Required skills

• Design of electrical systems using Civil3D
• ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks and BIM; Revit is additional
• Knowledge of GSM tower coverage requirements and street lighting calculations
