Electrical Maintenance Technician – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The role involves performing electrical maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of equipment in oil & gas and industrial facilities. All activities must follow approved procedures, HSE policies and Permit to Work requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards, UPS and lighting systems.
• Isolate, lock‑out and tag‑out equipment, verify safe conditions and ensure compliance with electrical standards.
• Conduct inspections, functional tests and calibrate testing instruments, recording results in the maintenance management system.
• Review work permits, risk assessments and method statements before starting any task.
• Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, commissioning and emergency maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Diploma/ITI/Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, power or industrial facilities.
• Physical fitness to work in plant environments, including shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Willingness to work on‑site at various ADNOC project locations in Abu Dhabi and to adapt to shift work.

Required skills

• Electrical maintenance (preventive, predictive, corrective).
• Experience with motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards, UPS and lighting systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
• Proficiency in using and calibrating testing equipment and instruments.
