Electro-Optics System Engineer

About the role

The Systems Engineer – Electro‑Optic & Imaging Systems will lead the end‑to‑end development and integration of advanced electro‑optic sensor solutions, turning user needs into functional hardware and software designs.

Key responsibilities

• Implement systems‑engineering processes for electro‑optic and imaging systems, covering requirements definition, design, implementation and verification.
• Develop system architectures and detailed specifications (SSS, HRS, SRS) for sensor modules, optical assemblies and image‑processing components.
• Support verification and validation activities, documenting test results, compliance reports and optical performance metrics.
• Participate in design reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR) and test readiness reviews, ensuring adherence to engineering checklists.
• Maintain project documentation such as CONOPS, SEMP and test‑evaluation plans.
• Conduct market research on emerging electro‑optic technologies and manage technical risks, configuration control and design decisions.
• Prepare and present technical papers, proposals and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and delegate technical tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline focused on electro‑optics or imaging systems.
• Minimum 5 + years of systems‑engineering experience with proven work on electro‑optic sensor design and integration.
• Hands‑on experience creating system specifications and validating optical performance.
• Familiarity with system‑lifecycle methodologies such as the V‑model or Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
